“Blithe Spirit” - A Supernaturally Wonderful Time
On April 16, 17, 23, & 24
audiences were treated to a one of Noel Coward’s
hilarious comedies, “Blithe Spirit”.
Directed by Peter Morrison and produced by John Hannon, the show
involved a novelist Charles Condomine, living with his second wife, Ruth, who
invites a local medium, Madame Arcati, to his house. His intention is to do
some research into the spirit world for his new book. But he gets more than he
bargained for when Madame Arcati conjures up the ghost of Charles’ first
wife, Elvira.
Our incredibly talented cast consisted
of Julie-Lynch, Ed Stever, Michelle Maimbourg, Bryan McGowan, Lara Bowen,
Angela Becker, and Flo Federman.
Kudos to everyone involved, both offstage and on, in making this one of
Playcrafters’ finest and successful production.
Theater Folk
We note with sadness the passing of
two Playcrafters stalwarts , Larry Cummings and Bill Love.
Larry was a loyal supporter for many years, often assisting uncredited
with set construction.
Since 1974 when he appeared in South
Pacific, Bill was a dedicated Playcrafter, both onstage and backstage, and
served two terms on the board and a term as President.
Bill's passion was Gilbert and Sullivan, and we recall with special
fondness the year he graced our stage as Ruler of the Queen's Navee. We
will miss them both.
The Nerd
Four Playcrafters are contributing their talents to “The Nerd”
at The Clare Rose Theater on the
2010 Scholarship Winners
On June 7th Annette Maillard and John
Hannon presented Playcrafters' Margaret W. Smith Memorial Award to three
Bellport High School Seniors. Congratulations and good luck go out to this
year's recipients:
