Our
Fall 2009 Production
The
Guys, by Anne Nelson
Playcrafters
will be performing a modified Reader’s Theater version of the play “The
Guys” by Anne Nelson. The action takes place in the days following the
World
Trade
Center
collapse when a journalist agrees to help a New
York Fire Department Captain write eulogies for eight of the firemen he lost in
the
Twin
Towers
. As the play progresses and they discuss the lives of each of the men, we learn
more about their profession, the emotions resulting from 9/11, and the meaning
of heroism. The role of Nick, the Captain, will be read by John
Simpson and the role of Joan, the journalist, will be read by Claire
Parrella-Curran.
We
are presenting “The Guys” in conjunction with our three local fire companies
and paying tribute to two local fire fighters
who lost their lives in the tragedy. Performances will be Friday, September
11th and Saturday, September 12th
at
8:00 P.M.
The suggested donation for admission is $10.00. The location is to be
announced. Please join us for this moving presentation.
